A letter from 
‍Our President and Our CEO

2024 was a monumental year for the International Code Council, marking 30 years of leadership in building safety and innovation.

Throughout the year, our mission remained clear: to provide the information, tools and resources that members rely on, building safety professionals turn to and the public trusts. With support from our members, stakeholders and industry professionals, we continued to lead the way in a changing world by advocating for transformation, growth and collaboration within the building safety industry.

We embraced the rapid evolution of our industry and the growing needs of our members and building safety professionals. As they advanced their careers, we expanded our services with enhanced member benefits, including an online community, a member transcript, a members-only library and new webinars tailored to chapter engagement. We enhanced professional development opportunities by upgrading our Technical Training Program with interactive online modules, digitized certificates and expanded digital resources. We updated our certification exams to the 2024 editions and responded to the needs of our members by introducing a new in-person test center option at 500+ locations.

This year was also the inaugural ICC Leadership Week in Orlando, Florida, a free event dedicated to providing members with the opportunity to earn CEUs, network with peers and expand their industry expertise.

In 2024, we prioritized innovation to enhance our customer offerings. We introduced ICC Innovation, a comprehensive suite of digital and software solutions designed to empower members, governments and professionals to streamline operations, improve safety and drive growth. We expanded ICC AI Navigator to support state custom codes, answering over 35,000 questions in 2024, and introduced Premium Answers Quick Consult, a new on demand service delivering fast, reliable code opinions.

In addition to supporting our members and customers, we strengthened our commitment to providing tools and resources for building resilience in communities around the world. Our inaugural World Water Awareness campaign highlighted critical water scarcity and safety challenges, and our annual Building Safety Month campaign continued to reinforce the need for the adoption of modern, regularly updated building codes.

Our global reach expanded as jurisdictions around the world from Saudi Arabia to Oman to Pakistan and throughout the Caribbean leveraged Code Council solutions to improve the building safety tools used by their regulators and stakeholders.

At our core, we remain dedicated to establishing a safer and more resilient built environment through the development of codes and standards. We published the full suite of the 2024 International Codes®, featuring a new style and format, tailored to meet the needs of our members and the building safety industry.

This year, we published the first edition of ICC 903/SRCC 500: Solar Tank Standard, completed updates to ICC A117.1 for accessible buildings, and released two key off-site construction resources—ICC/MBI 1210 and ICC Guideline 6. The adoption of ICC/MBI Standards 1200 and 1205 continued to grow, supporting innovation and safety in off-site construction.

We look ahead with renewed focus and optimism. With the continued hard work and dedication of our members, partners and building safety professionals worldwide, we are poised to reach new heights.
